The World Healing Project

A human being is part of the whole called by us the Universe, a part limited in time and space. We experience ourselves, our thoughts and feelings as something separate from the rest - a kind of optical delusion of consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from the prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.

- Albert Einstein

What is the World Healing Project?

The World Healing Project is a series of initiatives designed to help foster the growth of human and planetary relations through the expansion of the heart, mind, and spirit. The vision that shapes this project is one in which human beings recover their natural sense of wholeness with each other and all of life, while at the same time developing their potential as individuals. We believe that the root of all suffering lies in a fragmented perception of life, which is passed on through generations, often unquestioned. We also believe that our perception of life can change if we are exposed to the wholeness of life and have the resources to move beyond the resistances or unresourceful states that keep us in separation.

The World Healing Project is run by volunteers and enables individuals and groups to explore the issues of healing and wholeness, and to put into practice a new way of living in which individuals become more integrated with the whole of which they are a part. This is achieved through three main initiatives:

WE, THE WORLD
Making a Difference - For Life

Can you imagine 1000's of peace and sustainability organizations establishing such collaborative working relationships and being so well linked around the world that a success in one region is soon modeled in 100 others?!!

Can you imagine those organizations participating in global events that take place several times a year, with substantial media coverage, in which visionaries, activists, artists, celebrities, diplomats, socially responsible business leaders, forward thinking government officials, and the general public come together to celebrate, share information and take action regarding issues that affect the whole planet?!!

Then can you imagine after each event tens of thousands of new people get involved, and eventually millions swell the ranks (and the bank accounts) of non-profit peace and environmental organizations worldwide, transforming society and themselves, and consciously and collectively using their buying power, their voting power and their people power to move us visibly toward a world that works for everyone?!!

We can imagine it because we're making it happen! We've put together a practical strategy and an incredible team to carry it out!

I support and endorse the mission of We, The World to make sure that individuals and organizations who share a commitment to sustainability can network effectively to achieve their goals.
- Dr. Jane Goodall

OUR TEAM:
We, The World has gathered a team of accomplished leaders and visionary thinkers including:

Jane Goodall
Patch Adams
Corinne McLaughlin
Thom Hartmann

Daniel Ellsberg
Hazel Henderson
Jonathan Granoff
Sally Fisher

Riane Eisler
Ervin Laszlo
Diane Williams
Paul Ray

and more than 50 others (see full bios below) whose distinguished careers collectively have already benefited literally millions of people and other life around the world!

OUR STRATEGY:
• CREATE COMPREHENSIVE GLOBAL LINKS between organizations and people working to create a peaceful and sustainable planet.
• USE THESE LINKS TO ENGAGE, INFORM AND INVOLVE THE PUBLIC dramatically increasing the number of people actively working to reduce violence, suffering and environmental destruction, and foster co-existence, planetary consciousness and conscience.

There's only one catch to all this.
Your involvement is necessary in order for this to happen.

Can we count you in???

Here's where we are starting:

ART FOR CHILDREN'S SAKE

"The world's children would sing to you had they a voice. We must be their voice until we can return their collective and individual voices to them."
- Paul Weingarten.

We, The World is collaborating with artist Paul Weingarten and art buyer John Krysko to raise money for the relief of children in danger around the world. Together we are connecting artists with the organizations and individuals who are steadfastly addressing the conditions that rob children of their innocence: hunger, poverty, disease, forced labor/slavery, refugee crises, forced military duty. (See the full description below)

INTERDEPENDENCE DAY
Co-Existence or No Existence

In proclaiming Interdependence Day, we are acknowledging the evident - that we are all connected, and that when one thread in the web of life is sundered, all are diminished.

We are gathering support to link Interdependence Day with the 10th Anniversary of the Rio Earth Summit, the World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg South Africa, this August. (Full description below)

GLOBAL RESOURCES NETWORK
Connecting caring organizations globally so that
a breakthrough anywhere can be a breakthrough everywhere!

Our web-based Global Resources Network is being developed as a comprehensive, interactive, collaborative Yellow Pages of peace, sustainability and transformation!

This breakthrough model of collaboration and mutual support will allow 1000s of organizations and individuals to effectively work together to create a world where people live in harmony with each other and with the rest of nature. It will allow organizations around the world to easily learn about and then participate in each other's activities, whatever the distance between them — thus spreading their name and expanding their reach globally. GETTING INVOLVED
If you like what we're doing, we would appreciate if you forward this email to other concerned people with a short cover note from you recommending that they support this endeavor and perhaps get involved with it.

We need both volunteers and financial support.

We, The World is a non-profit organization with 501(c)(3) status that links organizations and individuals globally to build mass public involvement in creating a peaceful, caring, sustainable world.

Mandate the Future

Mandate the Future is part of the Culture of Peace Website developed by UNESCO.

The network consists of three websites, the affiliate members of MtF and the NGO partners of the Worldview International Foundation.

1.. www.mandatethefuture.org is the nodal site of the network. This site contains information regarding the project, its aims and aspirations and its various components.

2.. www.ctrlaltesc.org is the interactive site where short articles are posted. Also known as the 'community area' this is where the discussions take place. Every week MtF highlights a new issue. The content team of MtF posts small articles that stimulate discussions and debates. Topics previously covered on this site include global warming, violence against women, genetically modified food, single parents, capital punishment, child soldiers and ICT for development to name a few.

3.. The Zine or www.mandatemagazine.org is the component of MtFNet dedicated to development organizations. In true magazine format, it hosts advocacy campaigns, e-newsletters, ideas and viewpoints of our Affiliate Members. The Zine is our commitment to facilitate and highlight the remarkable efforts by our partners.

4.. Affiliate members of MtF. These are the organisations that are actively engaged on sustainable development initiatives. They work on-line and at the grassroot levels to create awareness and on projects promoting sustainable livelihoods.

5.. WIF NGO Network: Are the organisations working with the WIF on the Participatory Communication for Democracy and Sustainable Development (PCDSD) project and other projects at the grassroots level MtF can genuinely claim to have brought ICT disadvantaged youth 'online'. Through our network, we have successfully brought online, the ideas, wants, needs and opinions of these grassroots youth.

How does MtF mobilize ICT disadvantaged youth opinion?

Mandate is linked to WIF's NGO network operating at the grassroots level through more than 800 Community Based Organizations (CBOs). These are located in Sri Lanka, India, Nepal, Cambodia, South Africa, Kenya, Botswana Uganda and Gambia. These institutions have organized youth from the local community to form 'youth circles'.

Three thousand ICT disadvantaged youth in each country, about 25,000 youth in all, participate on MtF through the 50 Community communication Centres established by WIF. The output of youth discussions at community level is the content-input for www.ctrlaltesc.org Youth, in this sense, particularly ICT disadvantaged youth, become active participants in the communication flux; they become creators of knowledge rather than passive recipients of knowledge.

Let us try and explore these possibilities or any others that you wish.
