Balanced Beginnings

While a baby is in its most helpless stage, unable to sit up or crawl around or stand and walk, the brain cells are being produced at a phenomenal rate. So rapid is this process that the brain grows to half of its adult size by the age of six months! During this growth, the treatment and experience provided (deliberately or incidentally) is extremely important to the baby's later learning ablility. This rapid brain growth occurs only once in a lifetime. Patterns for much of all future learning are established during this period.

Kids Peace Net

"Where solving conflicts is an adventure" Why Peace Education? In a word - PREVENTION. Peace Education encompasses critical skills that generally are not taught at home or as a part of other subject areas. Peace Education also addresses "after-the-fact" solutions to conflict such as peer mediation and dispute resolution. These techniques are generally taught to a selected group of students in a school and do little to reduce the number of conflicts that occur or escalate to violence.

ONE DAY Foundation

ONE DAY was founded in January 1994 by a group of committed high school students. These students set out to create a project that would have global impact, empower and give hope to young people. First designed as an educational tool to teach these students how to express their passion, the result was far more inspirational than expected. From this work, the ONE DAY Foundation was created.
